A shutter slat looks simple from the outside. The Galvanix 100mm foam-filled slat packs three jobs — security, insulation, and quiet operation — into a profile barely four inches deep.
A galvanized steel shell
It starts with hot-dip galvanized steel, reaching 1.50mm at the interlocking joint. That thickness is where security lives: it is the part of the slat that resists prying and impact.
An injected polyurethane core
The hollow between the steel faces is injected with polyurethane foam. The core holds temperature against the outdoor swing and dampens sound, so the door runs noticeably quieter than a hollow profile.
A zigzag interlock
Finally, the tongue-and-groove zigzag interlock locks each slat to the next and seats the curtain firmly in the rails — the detail that turns a stack of slats into an anti-theft system.
