Residential garages and warehouse bays are not the same problem at a larger scale. As openings approach 12 metres wide, deflection, weight, and wind loading all start to matter in ways a small door never surfaces.
Start with the opening, not the door
Measure the structural opening and note how the lintel and side returns are built. The rails have to land on something solid, and the headroom has to clear the drum at full coil.
Match the slat to the span
The 100mm foam-filled slat carries the largest spans; the 80mm foam-filled slat brings insulation to mid-to-large openings; and the 80mm single skin profile is the balanced choice for mid-sized openings. Getting this pairing right is most of the specification.
When in doubt, send the opening size and application to the team — a quick review prevents the expensive surprises that show up during installation.
